Overview

  1. Start an assessment

As soon as you begin an assessment, the animal model matching the species is automatically loaded.

  2. Choose a tool and color

    Several marking tools are available:

    • Text labels – place labels directly on the model
    • Markers – mark points and areas

Each tool supports multiple colors, which you can define individually in your settings.

  3. Place findings on the model

    Mark on the desired view:

    • Pain points and tension
    • Blockages and restricted movement
    • Temperature differences
    • Scars and other notable findings
  4. Switch between models and views

Switch between model categories (e.g., bones, muscles, joints) and views (e.g., left, right, front, back). Each combination saves its markings separately.

Besides the 2D maps, you can now record findings directly on the 3D model – for horses, dogs and cats, with skeleton, muscles, organs, joints, lymph, nerves, vessels, hooves or paws, skin and acupuncture points. Rotate, zoom, and show or hide layers.

  1. Choose when creating

The first time you click New assessment sheet, TheraTap asks once how your team records assessments: 3D anatomy or 2D map. That choice is the default for everyone on the team, shown as a small “3D” or “2D” on the button and changeable any time under Settings → Practice details. The small arrow on the button lets you pick the other type for a single assessment. Existing assessments always open the way they were created. Animals without a 3D model (species “Other”) use the 2D map.

  2. Tap a part, enter the finding

Tapping a muscle, bone or organ opens the finding panel. The part is colored only once you enter a level, a rotation, one of your team options or a comment – just like on the 2D map. Free markers and freehand strokes are available too.

  3. Layers and sides

Switch layers on the left (skeleton, muscles, organs …), tools at the bottom, and the view at the bottom right (front, back, left, right, top, bottom). Markings are kept across layers.

  4. Form, media and info

The right rail holds the Findings, Media and Info tabs. Form opens the familiar assessment form on top of the model; drag photos and videos straight into the media tab. The info tab shows origin, insertion, innervation, function and practice notes for every part.

  5. Finish

The check mark at the bottom right saves the assessment – for a new one it becomes the finished assessment in the Documentation tab of the patient file.

In the new TheraTap app the body map – 2D and 3D – sits right in the entry next to the list of findings, with the form below. The 2D map and the 3D model share the same layout: the areas on the left (bones, muscles, joints …), tools at the bottom (Select, Marker, Draw, Center), levels and sides at the bottom right.

For more space, open the map in Full screen. On the right you open the Form, Findings, Media and Devices in a panel over the map (a sheet from the bottom on phones) – no need to leave full screen. Esc or the arrow at the top left closes full screen.

In the form’s text fields the formatting bar only appears once you tap into the field. Text blocks, dictation and AI dictation sit as small icons at the bottom right of the field.
