Absence & Closures

Not every day goes according to plan. Continuing education, holidays, a free afternoon, or three weeks of vacation – with absences and closures you tell TheraTap when bookings aren’t possible. The affected periods disappear automatically from your online booking, so clients only see appointments that are truly available.

Absence vs. closure

Absence

Affects one therapist – vacation, illness, continuing education. Only their appointments drop out for the period; everyone else stays bookable.

Closure

Affects the whole practice – holiday, company vacation. With multiple locations, optionally for a single location.

Creating an absence

  1. Open Settings → Online booking → Absence & Closures → Absence.
  2. Choose the therapist and the type (vacation, sick, training, other).
  3. Enter from–to (for a multi-day vacation just use the whole range – no entry per day needed).
  4. Optionally add a reason/note and save.

During the period the affected therapist is no longer bookable – all other therapists carry on as normal.

Creating a closure

  1. Switch to the Closures tab.
  2. Enter the period (from–to).
  3. With multiple locations: optionally pick one location (otherwise the closure applies practice-wide).
  4. Optionally add a reason and save.

During a closure no online bookings are possible.

Interaction with the other settings

A slot is only bookable when it falls within your opening hours, a schedule shift covers it, and neither an absence of the therapist nor a closure applies.
