Task Management

With the task management in TheraTap, you organize upcoming activities for yourself and your team. Assign tasks to specific people, patients, or contacts and stay on top of things with due dates and status indicators.

Team Assignment

Delegate tasks to individual team members and keep track of their progress.

Due Dates

Set deadlines with date and time. Overdue tasks are automatically highlighted in red.

Patient Reference

Link tasks directly to an animal or contact — ideal for follow-up examinations and callbacks.

Dashboard Widget

Open tasks appear directly on the dashboard — for a quick overview at the start of the day.

Recurring Tasks

Set up repeating tasks once — when you check one off, the next one appears automatically.

Each task can contain the following information:

  • Title – Short description of the task
  • Description – More detailed information or instructions
  • Due date – Date and optionally time
  • Assigned person – Team member who should complete the task
  • Patient – Optional reference to an animal
  • Contact – Optional reference to a pet owner

  1. Open the tasks page

You can access the task management via:

    • Menu → Tasks – Central task list
    • Dashboard – Widget with open tasks
    • Patient record – Tasks related to a patient
    • Contact view – Tasks related to a contact
  2. Create a new task

Click + New Task and fill in the fields:

    • Title (required)
    • Description (optional)
    • Due date and time (optional)
    • Assigned team member (optional)
    • Patient and/or contact (optional)
  3. Save

The task appears in the task list and the dashboard widget.

Activities that come up regularly — airing out the practice, disinfecting equipment, the weekly billing — can be set up once as a series. TheraTap then creates the follow-up tasks automatically.

  1. When creating or editing a task, enable the Repeat option.

  2. Choose the rhythm:

    • Frequency — daily, weekly, or monthly
    • Interval — e.g. “every 2 weeks” or “every 3 months”
    • Weekdays (for weekly repetition) — for example Monday, Wednesday and Friday
    • End — on a date, after a fixed count, or open-ended
  3. Save. The series is active and the first task appears in your list.

A series always shows exactly one open task. As soon as you check it off, TheraTap automatically creates the next one — on the correct next day of the rhythm. This keeps your list tidy instead of filling it with future entries.

You’ll spot recurring tasks in the list by the repeat icon ⟳.

  • Turn a task into a series: simply enable Repeat while editing.
  • Adjust the rhythm: change frequency, interval, weekdays, or end while editing — applies from the next generated task onward.
  • End the series: switch Repeat off. The current task stays, but nothing new follows.

Click the checkbox next to a task to mark it as complete. Completed tasks can be shown or hidden using the filter.

Tasks whose due date has passed are highlighted in red. This way, you can see at a glance what needs to be done urgently.

The task list offers various sorting options:

SortingDescription
TitleAlphabetically by task name
Due dateBy due date
PatientBy assigned animal
ContactBy assigned contact

Additionally, you can show or hide completed tasks to focus on open ones.

A widget on the dashboard displays your open tasks. This gives you an immediate overview of upcoming activities at the start of the workday.

In the patient record and contact view, you will find a dedicated section for tasks assigned to the respective patient or contact. Here you can:

  • Create new tasks with a direct reference
  • View and edit existing tasks
  • Mark tasks as complete

  • Edit: Click on a task to open the form and make changes.
  • Delete: Click the delete icon. A confirmation prompt appears before permanent removal.
