Device documentation

Device therapy lives on the settings: speed, incline, dose, intensity. In TheraTap you capture these metrics as structured data instead of free text – directly in the findings form, with last values recalled and a trend chart in the animal record.

The right fields per device

Underwater treadmill, laser, shockwave, ultrasound and other types ship with their parameters.

Reuse last values

One click adds the device – fields are prefilled with this animal’s last settings.

Review the trend

In the animal record you see chart and table across the treatment series – including PDF export.

In the report

Recorded applications can be included in the treatment report.

TheraTap maintains the catalogue centrally. You pick the type; you don’t define your own fields. Typical parameters:

Device type Typical metrics
Underwater treadmill Speed (km/h, m/min or level), incline (% or level), water level, water height, temperature, intervals, handling, weight cuffs
Treadmill Speed, incline, intervals
Laser therapy Dose (J/cm²), power (W), wavelength, mode, frequency, area
Electrotherapy Intensity (mA), frequency, current type, pulse width
Ultrasound Intensity (W/cm²), frequency, duty cycle
Magnetic field / PEMF Intensity, frequency, programme
Shockwave Energy, pulses, type (radial/focused), frequency
TECAR Power, mode
Vibration plate Frequency, amplitude, position
Heat / cold / red light Kind, temperature, level
Cold plasma therapy Pulses per second (Hz), amplitude, treatment area, electrode
Repuls therapy Intensity level

Duration, treated body region and notes apply to every type.

For fields that differ between devices – the speed on an underwater treadmill, for instance – you pick the unit once per device in the device settings: “What does your device display?” After that it is fixed for that device and values stay comparable over weeks. Unambiguous quantities such as °C or cm are not selectable.

  1. Map a device type

Under Settings → Rooms & devices open an existing device (or create one) and choose the matching type, e.g. underwater treadmill.

  2. Open the Devices tab

In the findings form the Devices tab appears next to the form tabs. Captured applications for this treatment sit at the top, the quick picker of all practice devices below.

  3. Click a device

One click adds the application and opens the parameter fields. Devices this animal used last sit at the top and are marked (“last on …”).

  4. Check or adjust values

If the device was used for this animal before, fields are prefilled. Save unchanged – or increase on purpose, e.g. speed from 3.0 to 3.5 km/h.

  5. Add more devices

The quick picker stays visible. You can record several devices in one session – including the same device twice with different settings.

In the animal record open Devices. At the top you pick the type (e.g. UWL · 12) – exactly one, because parameters are not comparable across types.

  • Chart: numeric metrics as lines over the treatment date. The one or two primary parameters are on by default; add the rest from the legend.
  • Table: all applications in chronological order, with the delta to the previous value. A click opens the matching findings form.
  • PDF: export the history with chart and table as PDF.

Whether an application appears in the findings report PDF is decided per entry. The “Show in the findings report” switch sits on the application itself and is off by default – the report reaches the customer and never carried device parameters before.

In a session with an underwater treadmill and a laser, one can be in the report and the other not. With the switch on, device type, duration, body region, every recorded value and the note appear in the PDF – translated into your practice’s language. Fields without a value are left out.

Not every device application belongs to a findings form. In the animal record, under Devices, you create an entry directly: pick the device, fill in the values, set date and time, save.

Such entries appear in the same history and the same evaluation as those from a findings form; a small icon marks them in the table. Their point in time is freely editable – for entries tied to a findings form it comes from there and follows along when you correct the treatment date.
