AI assistant

The AI assistant lives in the new TheraTap app as a panel on the right-hand side. Ask it questions in plain language – “What’s on today?”, “Which invoices are overdue?” – and it answers with your practice’s real data. You can also give it tasks: it prepares a task, an appointment or a note and shows you everything as a suggestion. Nothing is changed until you tap Run.

Answers from your data

Appointments, animals, contacts, findings, invoices, tasks and more – asked like in a conversation.

Knows the open page

In an animal record, “this animal” is enough; in a contact, “this contact”.

Tasks as suggestions

Creating and changing only after you click Run.

Links straight to the target

Answers link to the animal record, contact, appointment or invoice.

  1. Open the panel

Tap Assistant at the top right – or press ⌘ J (Mac) or Ctrl + J (Windows). On a phone, the assistant opens as a sheet from the bottom.

  2. Ask a question or give a task

Type into the input field at the bottom and send with Enter. To get started, the assistant suggests a few questions you only need to tap.

  3. Close the panel

Use the × or press ⌘ J / Ctrl + J again. The conversation is kept when you reopen the panel – even if you switch pages in between.

The assistant looks things up in TheraTap with your permissions and summarises the result. Among other things, it knows:

Area Example
Appointments “What’s on today?” · “When is Balu’s next appointment?”
Animals “Which animals belong to the Meyer family?”
Owners and contacts “What is open for this contact?”
Entries and findings “Summarise this animal’s latest findings.”
Invoices “Which invoices are overdue?”
Tasks “Which tasks do I have this week?”
Check-ups “Which animals are due for a check-up?”
Appointment requests “Are there any new appointment requests?”
Messages “Which messages are still unanswered?”
Statistics and revenue “How much revenue did we have in September?”
Absences “Who is away next week?”
Articles “What does laser therapy cost according to the article list?”

Answers contain links – one click takes you straight to the animal record, contact, appointment or invoice.

The assistant knows which page you have open. If you are in Balu’s animal record, “Summarise this animal’s latest findings” is enough – no need to add the name. The same applies to an open contact, appointment or invoice.

You can ask the assistant to create or change something for you, for example:

  • “Create a task for tomorrow: call back the Meyer family.”
  • “Book Balu for next Tuesday at 10 am.”
  • “Add a note to this animal: feed changed.”
  • “Record 32.5 kg as Balu’s weight.”
  • “Create a new contact: Anna Schulz, 0171 1234567.”
  • “Create an invoice draft for today’s appointment.”

The assistant never runs such things directly. Instead, a suggestion card appears with all the details – such as title, date, time and animal. The card shows Waiting for you until you decide:

  1. Check the details

Read the card. If something is wrong, tap Discard and tell the assistant what to change.

  2. Run

If everything is right, tap Run. Only now is the task, appointment or note created.

  3. Read the result

The assistant reports back whether it worked – usually with a link to the new entry.

For bigger tasks, the assistant makes several suggestions one after another. You confirm or discard each one individually.

  • New conversation starts with an empty history – useful when you change the subject.
  • Use History to open earlier conversations and continue where you left off.
  • Delete a conversation you no longer need from the history.

  • No deleting: The assistant cannot delete anything. You still do that yourself.
  • Locked areas: Login, subscription and payment, team management and security settings are off limits.
  • Your permissions: It acts with the permissions of the signed-in person and only sees what you are allowed to see.
  • No diagnoses: It summarises what has been documented, but does not make diagnoses or give treatment recommendations.
  • Checking is up to you: Like any AI, it can make mistakes. Verify important details via the links in the answer.

  • Ask specifically: “Overdue invoices from the Meyer family” gives a better answer than “Invoices?”.
  • Use the page: Open the animal record or contact first, then your questions can be shorter.
  • Follow up: If an answer isn’t quite right, just write what you need instead – the assistant knows the conversation so far.
  • Dates and times like “tomorrow”, “next Tuesday” or “in September” are understood. The suggestion card shows the exact date before you run it.
