Connect Google Calendar

With the Google integration you no longer need to check two calendars: events from your Google Calendar block the time in TheraTap and in online booking, and your TheraTap appointments appear in the “TheraTap” calendar in Google.

A practice can connect several Google accounts – for example a shared practice account plus the personal calendars of individual therapists. Each account has its own rules.

  1. Open the Google dialog

In the calendar via the Google Calendar menu or under Settings → Calendar (in the new app: Settings → Integrations).

  2. Connect a Google account

Click Connect Google account and sign in with Google. You are then taken back to TheraTap.

  3. Check the rules

The new account belongs to the person who connected it and imports events as “Busy” only at first. Adjust the rules if needed (see below).

Everyone can connect their own Google calendar and change its rules. Owners and admins see all accounts of the practice and can assign them to another person or to the whole practice.

Setting Options
Assigned to A person (imported events block their time) or the whole practice
Import events from Google On or off. Off = TheraTap only writes to Google
Import as Full (title and description) or only as “Busy” (no details)
Events marked private in Google Like all others, only as “Busy” or not at all (only with “Full”)
Send to Google Nothing, only the assigned person’s appointments or all practice appointments

Events marked as “free” in Google are never imported – they don’t block anything in Google either.

  • They are practice-only: no reminders, no messages to pet owners, and they don’t appear in the Flow.
  • They are read-only – change or delete them in Google.
  • TheraTap syncs every few minutes. Sync now in the Google dialog syncs immediately.
  • When you change an account’s rules, its events are imported again right away – old titles don’t linger.

Disconnect removes the account’s imported events from TheraTap immediately. The “TheraTap” calendar in Google stays; you can delete it there if you no longer need it.
