Create courses

With the course module you plan group offers right in TheraTap – from puppy classes and first-aid workshops to webinars. You set sessions, seats and price, pet owners register online, and TheraTap takes care of confirmations, reminders and the waiting list.

Three course types

Course series, single event or drop-in – depending on whether people book the whole course or single sessions.

On site, online or hybrid

For online and hybrid courses you add the webinar link – it is included in the confirmation and the reminder.

Seats & waiting list

Limit the seats. Once the course is full, further registrations go to the waiting list.

Found in the course portal

With a topic and animal types, pet owners find your course in the MeinTier course portal.

  1. Open Courses

Open Courses in the navigation and click Create course.

  2. Fill in the basics

Enter a Title and choose the Course type and Format (see below). Pick a Topic and the animal types under For which animals?. Without an animal type, the course is for all animals.

  3. Set price & seats

Enter Capacity, Minimum participants, Price and Tax rate in %. Leave the capacity empty for unlimited seats – handy for webinars. If the minimum isn’t reached three days before the first session, you get an email and decide yourself whether to cancel.

  4. Set course lead & location

Choose the Course lead – their calendar is blocked during the sessions. Choose Location and Room, or enter a free Address if the course takes place elsewhere (e.g. at the dog training ground). See Course lead, location and room.

  5. Set up registration

Decide whether the course is Publicly visible, whether to Confirm registrations automatically, whether to Ask for the animal, and up to how many hours before participants may cancel themselves (Self-cancellation up to (hours before the course starts)). Under Requirements you note what to bring – the text appears in the confirmation and the reminder.

Under Registration period & conditions you set when registration opens and closes, add cancellation terms and checkboxes that must be confirmed when registering – such as vaccinations, veterinary clearance or a liability note. Templates are available right in the form.

  6. Add sessions

In the Sessions tab, Generate series creates all sessions at once (e.g. 6 × Tuesdays at 6 pm), or you use Add session for single sessions. Each session can have a different course lead, a different location and an internal note.

  7. Publish

Set the status to Published. Only then is online registration possible. How the course reaches your clients is described in Publish courses.

Course type How people book Example
Course series One registration for all sessions Puppy class with 6 evenings
Single event One session, one registration First-aid workshop on Saturday
Drop-in Registration per session, seats per session Weekly fitness group

The Format is On site, Online or Hybrid. For online and hybrid, an Online link is required.

Price and format stay editable. Price changes only apply to new registrations. Participants are not notified automatically about a change of format.

You set the course lead and location on the course. If a single session differs, change it in the Sessions tab – anything you leave empty on the session comes from the course.

Setting Effect
Course lead This person is blocked in the calendar during the sessions – no double bookings, no online bookings at that time.
Name on the certificate Free text for external speakers or a co-lead, e.g. “Dr. Anna Berg & Tobias Nebelung”. Shown on the certificate of attendance instead of the course lead. Empty = name of the course lead.
Location One of your practice locations.
Room Blocked during the sessions, so it isn’t available for appointments or online booking. Online courses don’t occupy a room.
Address A free location outside the practice, e.g. “Dog training ground, Waldweg 3, Krefeld”. Takes precedence over the location.

The location appears in the confirmation, reminder and all session emails and in the calendar file (.ics) participants receive – the right one for each session. Without your own entry, your practice address is used.

If the time, location or online link of an upcoming session changes, participants automatically get an email with an updated calendar file. Which email is sent when is explained under Emails when sessions change.

Use Internal notes on the course for anything only your team should see – arrangements, materials, the hall key. In addition, every session has its own note, e.g. “Set up the agility course” or “Speaker brings a projector”. Notes are never shown to participants.

Under Courses, the next courses are at the top. Past courses are hidden; bring them back with Show past courses. Use the filters to narrow the list down by status (draft, published, archived) and topic.

A Course image appears in the course widget, on your MeinTier profile, in the course portal and in the preview of shared links. You upload it in the course settings.

For the next run, use Duplicate course. The copy starts as a draft without participants. If you enter a new first session, all following sessions move along.

Status Meaning
Draft Internal only, no registration
Published Online registration possible (if “Publicly visible” is on)
Archived Finished, kept for reporting and invoices

Cancel course cancels all sessions and registrations – all participants are notified by email. To cancel a single session, use Cancel session in the Sessions tab. Affected participants get an email – see Emails when sessions change.
