A prescription in one minute

Since early 2025, the veterinary prescription under Section 15 of the German TÄHAV replaces the former administration and dispensing record. For horses and other food-producing animals you need one for every administration and dispensing, for dogs and cats when dispensing prescription-only medicines. TheraTap now creates it for you.

Pre-filled from the appointment

In the animal record, open the Medications tab and click Create prescription. TheraTap takes the medications from the last appointment with quantity and batch, plus your practice details, the owner and the animal with chip and equine passport number.

Maintain the details once per medication

Active substance and strength, pharmaceutical form, usual dosage, warnings and withdrawal periods per species are stored once under Settings → Medications. When prescribing, you only adjust what differs and set the marking U, P or M if needed.

Ready to hand over and keep

One click prints it or emails it to the owner. The PDF contains all mandatory details including “Not for presentation at a pharmacy” – with your practice logo. Issued prescriptions stay unchanged in the animal record – for the required five years.
