TheraTap

TheraTap is practice-management software for animal therapists, animal naturopaths, animal physiotherapists and veterinarians. This page describes the application and explains why TheraTap asks for access to your Google Calendar.

How we process personal data is set out in our privacy policy: Privacy policy (https://theratap.app/privacy/)

Who TheraTap is

TheraTap is operated by TheraTap GbR, Jonas Imping and Maya Alina Imping, Grootkoppelstr. 56, 22844 Norderstedt, Germany. The software runs in the browser at go.theratap.de and the website is theratap.de. Signing in is required to use the practice software. This page can be read without signing in.

What the application does

TheraTap is digital practice management for treatments of horses, dogs and other animals. You document treatments, manage animal owners and animals, write invoices and schedule appointments.

  • Calendar for clinic, stable and home visits, including recurring appointments and a team view
  • Online booking with reminders
  • Client and animal records, findings and documentation
  • Invoices, contracts and reporting
  • Optional Google Calendar connection so appointments are also visible outside TheraTap

Why Google Calendar access is requested

Connecting is optional. You start it yourself in TheraTap under Appointments → Google Calendar Sync. TheraTap then requests the Google permission “See, edit, share, and permanently delete all the calendars you can access using Google Calendar” (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar) and a refresh token so sync continues without signing in again.

  • TheraTap creates a separate calendar named “TheraTap” in your Google account, or reuses it if it already exists. That requires reading your calendar list.
  • Appointments from TheraTap are written to, updated in and deleted from that calendar. The event includes the title (appointment title or animal name, plus the practitioner’s initials), description, start and end (time zone Europe/Berlin) and, when available, the location. Internal IDs for the appointment, animal, contact and user are stored only as private extended properties on that event.
  • If you leave import enabled, TheraTap reads upcoming events from your primary Google Calendar — title, description, start and end, only within your practice’s booking window. Those events block free slots in TheraTap so nothing is double-booked. Past events are not imported. You can turn import off before or after connecting. TheraTap then only sends its own appointments to Google.
  • TheraTap deletes only events it created itself in the “TheraTap” calendar, when the appointment is deleted or cancelled in TheraTap. Other Google calendars are not deleted or shared.

What does not happen with Google data

  • No access to Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Drive or other Google services
  • No use for advertising and no sale of calendar data
  • No sharing with third parties other than Google, as far as required for sync, and the infrastructure that runs TheraTap
  • The data is used only to keep your practice calendar in step with the Google account you connected
  • No AI training: Google data, raw or derived, is not used to develop, improve or train generalized AI or ML models. TheraTap does not use any user data to train AI models.
  • The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Disconnect

You can disconnect at any time in TheraTap and also revoke access in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Sync then stops.
